KUALA LUMPUR, 26 October 2026 — Lenggong is set to bring music, nature and heritage together as organisers of the MegaJamz Lenggong Music Festival 2026 aim to gather 500 musicians for a large-scale performance and an Asia record attempt on 29 November.

The festival, scheduled to take place at Resort Tasik Raban in Lenggong, Perak, is expected to begin at 4pm. Admission will be free, with organisers targeting an attendance of at least 10,000 visitors.

Lenggong Tourism Council chairman Datuk Seri Dr Shamsul Anuar Nasarah said the inaugural festival would provide a platform to introduce the district’s natural beauty and heritage to a wider audience. He said music could help bring international attention to Lenggong while encouraging tourism and economic activity for the local community.

The festival is being held in conjunction with the Lenggong International Dialogue 2026, which is expected to bring together more than 500 participants from 16 countries. Organisers are targeting recognition in the Asia Record Book Of Achievements for the mass musical performance.

Celebrating Lenggong’s Heritage Through Music

Lenggong offers a distinctive setting for the festival. The Archaeological Heritage of the Lenggong Valley is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, while the area also holds UNESCO Global Geopark status.

By bringing performers and visitors together in this setting, the festival aims to showcase Lenggong as a destination where cultural events can be enjoyed alongside its natural and historical attractions.

Dato KK Chua, Founder and Chief Adjudicator of Asia Record, said large-scale performances could create opportunities for communities to celebrate their identity and introduce their heritage to new audiences.

“Bringing 500 musicians together is an ambitious undertaking that requires coordination, commitment and a shared passion for music. A gathering of this scale can also draw attention to the unique heritage of its host destination and encourage more people to discover what Lenggong has to offer,” he said.

Jo Branko to Join the Performance

Malaysian rock guitarist Jo Branko is expected to make a special appearance in the mass performance. Having spent more than four decades in the music industry and participated in nearly 3,500 concert performances, he expressed enthusiasm for the challenge of bringing 500 musicians together.

Jo Branko also expressed hope that the festival could become an annual event for Lenggong. Dr Shamsul Anuar similarly indicated that organisers hoped to establish it as a recurring attraction for Malaysian and international music fans.

The event will involve cooperation from departments and agencies under the Ministry of Home Affairs, including the National Registration Department, Royal Malaysia Police, National Anti-Drugs Agency, Malaysia Civil Defence Volunteer Corps, Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency and Immigration Department.

With free admission and a programme built around a large-scale musical gathering, MegaJamz Lenggong Music Festival 2026 is expected to give visitors an opportunity to experience Lenggong’s music, landscape and heritage in a single event.
